Pressure Filters can be positioned at any height and distance from the pond, even buried in the ground. They are a good choice when space is limited and when you want to hide it away.
It is important to get the right size filter for your pond and the pump you have. If in doubt, and if budget allows, always go for the biggest filter you can afford.
It will be better for your pond and the level of maintenance required. Size will also depend on the amount of fish you have and the amount of sunlight.
